Add expected salary to your profile for insightsPosition SummaryJoin a dynamic and world-class project team as a Contracts Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting major projects by expertly managing contracts from pre-award to post-award stages.Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for tendering, negotiating, awarding, and administering contracts in alignment with company policies and standards.
Your duties will encompass executing expressions of interest, conducting tender evaluations, attending bid meetings, negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring quality assurance and compliance.
You will also prepare commercial reports detailing procurement status, cost commitments, and contract variations.
With a focus on mining projects, your expertise in procurement, contracts administration, and cost control will be crucial in driving successful project outcomes.
Your strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills will enable you to engage effectively with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, ensuring seamless contract management and favorable results.If you have a degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in similar roles, this opportunity offers a chance to contribute to globally significant projects in the resource industry.About the RoleEnsure a high level of contracts support by effectively tendering, negotiating, awarding, and administering assigned contracts and agreements on a major project.Manage allocated contracts from Pre-Award to Post-Award in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards.Execute expressions of interest, tender evaluations, and due diligence through to contract formation.Attend pre and post bid meetings and negotiate terms and conditions.Prepare and compile commercial reports on procurement and contracts status, including cost commitments, progress payments, variations, claims, and correspondence.Manage contracts for a live major project in accordance with contractual and procedural requirements, legal requirements, codes, and standards.Monitor quality assurance and compliance reporting.About the CandidateMinimum of 10 years' experience in procurement, contracts administration, and cost control for major mining projects or similar.Experience working in a tier one or two contractor environment.Degree in a relevant field such as Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Finance, or Law.Strong understanding of contract law and general law.Ability to review and fairly evaluate bids and tender packages.Proficiency in carrying out like-for-like price reviews and adjustments according to rise and fall mechanisms.Strong skills in compiling and conforming contracts and tender documents, including understanding various methods of measurement.Excellent negotiation skills with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.Experience in medium value and complexity contract development and management, ideally with exposure to the resource industry or similar.Ability to engage, develop relationships, and drive favorable outcomes with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels.Strong organisational and teamwork skills with an ability to coordinate multiple tasks and personnel.Proactive and efficient management of own output and deliverables.Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.Sound business acumen and advanced documentation skills with high attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to draft formal communication and correspondence to vendors in relation to project contracts administration.How to ApplyAt Inverse Group, we are dedicated to creating and improving diverse and inclusive environments within the workforce.
