As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines. 
Lynas is embarking on an expansion in Western Australia, and we have an opportunity for a driven Contracts Specialist wanting to join the team. This is a fixed term 12 Month contract, based in our Perth Office.
As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will: Provide Procurement and Contract support to the Company Project and Operation teams.Responsible for all assigned activities related to major works and third-party contract servicesDevelop and issue complex tender packages, administer tender process and receive tenders and undertake the review of tender submissions and negotiate any exceptions to Terms and Conditions.Construct negotiation matrices to understand vendor motivationsPrepare recommendations for award and ContractsAdministration of post-award contractual obligations and deliverables including, assessing, reviewing, and advising on contractor claims such as, EOTs, progress claims and payment requestsAnalysis of Contractor claims and variations.Working across contracts including but not limited to service & construction contracts which can include site surveying, camp management, and power distribution worksDrafting & preparation of contractual documents & contract correspondence.Ensuring commercial requirements of the contract are satisfied including reporting, forecasting, variations, extensions of time, notice of delays etc.Responsible for end-to-end contracts management from tendering, evaluation, contract negotiation, through to award and contracts managementManaging and liaising with legal department regarding all contracts.Manage contractor and internal stakeholder relationships and monitor contract performance.Develop, implement, and manage quantity surveying/monitoring/quality assurance function.Manage and update the contract management system and ensure commercial information remains accurate and confidentialDeveloping, implementing, and monitoring the company's contract and procurement processes and procedures What you will bring to the team: Extensive contract management experience preferably in mining/construction/Civil industryExperience in handling major construction contractsCommercially savvy and able to optimise commercial value and drive improvements across the value chain.Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of the principles of contracts law, business ethics and the contractual/commercial principles adopted within the industry.Knowledge of using software packages such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Words are essentialExposure with creating, implementing and monitoring procurement policies and proceduresDemonstrable commitment to HSE requirements in project environmentsThe ideal candidate will have background & experience in: Minimum 8 years' experience in a similar positionTertiary qualification in Quantity Survey, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or similar is desirable, but not essentialPrevious Contracts Administration or Management experience within the construction, engineering, resources industries.Strong knowledge of Contracts lawExperience in developing, procuring, executing, and administering high-value, complex packages.Extensive experience in claims management and mitigation.We welcome and encourage applications from women and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the LGBTIQA+ community, mature workers, as well as candidates with culturally diverse backgrounds. Lynas acknowledges First Nations people as and respects their unique relationship with the land and sea, their culture, spiritual tradition, and stories.
