We distribute high-quality produce to wholesale businesses including market agents, supermarkets, retailers, and food service businesses.
Key Responsibilities
The Contract Administrator is responsible for negotiating, managing, reviewing, and coordinating supply, distribution, and transport contracts for the business.
They ensure that all agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements, manage contract lifecycle activities, and support various departments with contract-related inquiries.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, amendments, renewals, and terminations.
Ensure all contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Maintain accurate records of all contract documentation and correspondence.
Liaise with the operations team to assess the quality and quantity of produce or performance of transport suppliers, ensuring compliance with contracts.
Manage contract renewals and expiration dates, ensuring contracts are re-negotiated on favourable terms.
Review alternative suppliers' terms and conditions to assess the value of existing contracts.
Undertake market research to stay ahead of market developments.
Collaborate with operations, sales, and finance teams to align contract terms with business objectives.
Seek advice from external lawyers as required for contract terms and in the event of disputes.
Ensure insurance and liability provisions are adequate and up-to-date.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Diploma in business administration, law, project management, or a related field, or experience in lieu of qualifications.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract administration or a similar role.
Experience in the wholesale industry is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of contract law.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of the fruit and vegetable industry, and seasonal impacts on the market.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions
Full-time position, typically 38 hours per week.
Office-based with occasional travel to meet with suppliers, vendors, or customers.
May require additional hours during peak contract periods or to meet critical deadlines.
