About the role
As the Contracts Manager you are integral to the success of V/Line's Network Development Assets & Maintenance Group.
The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing and improving rail materials and services contracts, supporting the Asset Management group with best practices. The role involves active contract management, performance reviews, and developing innovative improvements.
Key Accountabilities include:

Engage with internal users to understand operational needs and key risks for effective contract management.
Manage day-to-day contract activities, ensuring compliance and performance.
Act as the primary contact for suppliers, handling contract relationships and performance.
Monitor and review contract performance, addressing non-conformance and implementing improvements.
Maintain strong business relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, managing issues and negotiations.

About you
Our ideal candidate has strong contract management experience, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. They are analytical, knowledgeable in procurement best practices, and adept at ensuring contract compliance and performance.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
Extensive contract management experience, with demonstrated experience in operational environments.
Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and financial acumen.
Diploma or Tertiary qualification in Law, Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field is desirable.
