With more than 60,000 structures completed throughout our 130-year history, we have the global expertise and strategically-located operations to provide customers world-class storage solutions for even the most complex energy infrastructure projects.OverviewThe Principal Contract Management Specialist (Contracts Lead) is responsible for administering and managing the commercial and contractual aspects of prime contracts. This role should also support the Subcontracts Management if required. The Principal Contract Management Specialist administers and participates in change orders, claims, and the dispute resolution process related to our Client contract as well as all subcontracts, insurance claims, etc., all under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Area Operations Director. The Principal Contract Management Specialist works with the Project Managers and other relevant functions to ensure that the company liabilities and legal obligations are defined, executed, and correctly reported.The role directly reports to the Project Manager OR Area Operations Director and functionally to the District Contracts Manager.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for administering the commercial, legal, and financial aspects of prime contracts;Ensure, immediately post-award, that all project key personnel and functional leads are aware of all relevant commercial and contract execution information;Work with Project Managers and project teams to set strategy, manage and direct the commercial operation of projects from award through successful commercial closeout;Ensure the projects have in place a commercial baseline and contract summary documentation;Ensure risk management, contract management, and value improvement processes are fully and uniformly deployed and managed in accordance with procedures;Throughout the duration of contracts, ensure the best commercial interests of the company are maintained, through policing of the prime contract;Responsible for ensuring that the projects comply with any of the ECA, Local Content, and other regulatory/statutory requirements of the contract;Prepare and/or provide input to contract amendments or change orders as required;General administration, minutes keeping, records keeping, etc;Ensure any correspondence, execution, or amendments comply with the contract/subcontract/ and CMS requirements;Other relevant tasks as directed by the Project Manager or Area Operations Director;Comply with functional reporting requirements;Partake in the function's strategy development and implementation.Local RequirementsThe candidate should hold a Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Quantity Surveying / Business Management or any related qualification;Willing to travel to project sites if needed.QualificationsMinimum 10 years of relevant EPC experience in the Oil & Gas / Energy / Petrochemical Industry;Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Business Management;Professional membership with AIQS or RICS preferred.Skills and BehaviorsAbility to prioritize and organize tasks to meet deadlines, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail;Knowledgeable of different standard forms of contract (i.e., FIDIC, NEC, AS, JCT, etc.);Knowledgeable of financial, accounting, bonds, and surety principles;Proactively identifies and offers solutions to problems;Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;Strong negotiating ability with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills;A mature business and technical acumen coupled with a drive to achieve results;Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal;Proficient with MS Office software programs such as word processing, presentations, email, spreadsheets, and databases at the advanced level of proficiency; as well as the ability to learn and operate efficiently specialized software as related to the functional area;Ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships;Ability to use good judgment and common sense, to make logical, cost-effective and sometimes critical decisions while working under high pressure situations and within strict deadlines relating to contract management functions;Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality;Proactively embraces and promotes the company's values and culture, including diversity & inclusion and a healthy and safe work environment.
