Contracts and Legal Operations Coordinator – Cairns Airport – Permanent role Our client is the Cairns Airport , part of the North Queensland Airports Group which also includes Mackay Airport. Cairns Airport is now seeking a Contracts and Legal Operations Coordinator. In this role, you'll manage contracts, ensure compliance, and support the development of key Queensland airports in Cairns and Mackay. THE ROLE:
Permanent, full-time position based in Cairns, Queensland
In this role, you will be responsible for the management of commercial contracts process for the organisation throughout the entire lifecycle, including: Ensuring alignment with business objectives
Together with the General Counsel, updating the company's contract management tools and supporting new contract management processes.
Coordinating with the legal team to review and negotiate contracts using pre-approved contract templates.
Maintaining the company register of executed contracts and proactively identifying contracts for renewal.
You will also coordinate Legal Operations across the organisation, including: Driving smart, efficient and user-friendly process improvements for the legal department.
Implementing and refining processes to streamline contract management and improve operational efficiency.
Supporting the efficient allocation and proactive triage of incoming legal review work to the legal department.
Utilising technology to enhance tracking and reporting on key performance indicator metrics for the legal department.
Other key areas will include: Project Management : Effective project management of Legal Department projects.
Championing compliance : Championing legal compliance and legal process requirements across the organisation.
Training : Delivering internal contracts management training sessions to NQA business teams.
Templates : Coordinating the review of legal templates to support best practice drafting and contracting processes.
Contract Lifecycle Management : Delivery of sound full lifecycle contract management solutions.
Contract Database Management : Maintaining the company's contract database, tracking contract milestones, ensuring renewals are managed on time, and providing recommendations for improvement.
Contract Risk Management : Identifying potential risks at each stage of the contract lifecycle and recommending strategies to mitigate risks.
Stakeholder Collaboration : Working closely with internal business teams and external stakeholders to ensure that contractual agreements align with the company's business objectives.
Contract compliance : Ensuring that contracts meet the Legal Department's compliance and governance requirements.
Continuous Improvement : Recommending improvements to contract lifecycle management processes and systems.
Legal Process Development : Designing and implementing standardised legal workflows, policies, and procedures.
Operations Optimisation : Identifying inefficiencies in current legal processes and recommending innovative solutions.
Technology Management : Leading the adoption and management of legal technology tools to enhance workflow automation and data tracking.
ABOUT YOU:
You bring a solid background in contract administration, with a proven ability to manage contracts end-to-end.
You are driven, can work responsibly, and are able to plan your own work under general direction.
5+ years of experience in contract management or contract administration.
Experience with project management and legal operations is highly desirable.
Any prior background within the aviation, infrastructure, or property sectors will be beneficial.
Your keen eye for detail ensures nothing is missed.
You possess strong communication skills and thrive in a collaborative environment.
You are tech-savvy, with experience using technology platforms to drive process efficiency.
Proactive and solution-focused, you excel at managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
