About your new company We are seeking a qualified Senior Contracts Manager with experience in Gas Gathering, Piping, or Buried Services to join our HDPE Gas Gathering Project for a leading contractor supplying service to the energy sector in the Surat Basin.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee all contract management aspects, ensuring the project runs smoothly and adheres to legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Contract Management: Review, analyze, and negotiate contract terms and variations with clients and onsite management.
Ensure all variations are legally binding and meet project requirements.
Effectively manage contract amendments, budgets, and variations.
Maintain a comprehensive contract register and document control system.
Project Administration: Coordinate and facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors.
Manage and track project schedules, budgets, and milestones.
Generate and distribute reports on project progress and contract compliance.
Claims & Risk Management: Analyze and evaluate potential and existing contract claims.
Collaborate with project managers to mitigate risks and minimize contractual disputes.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of change orders and claims according to contract terms.
Closeout & Documentation: Facilitate the finalization of contracts, including final inspections, handover processes, and documentation.
Qualifications: Technical Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience in construction contracts administration.
Strong understanding of construction contract law, regulations, and best practices.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and construction management software (e.g., Primavera, Procore).
Excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills.
Soft Skills: Meticulous attention to detail and a highly organized work ethic.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the Mining or Gas Gathering sector and familiarity with project management methodologies.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, along with proficiency in industry-specific software and a solid understanding of risk management principles as applied to contracts, are essential for effectively overseeing project contracts and ensuring successful outcomes.
Additional Requirements: Current driver's license and white card.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow safety procedures.
Availability to start within 2-4 weeks and pass a pre-employment medical.
