UGL'S Utilities team designs, constructs and maintains critical infrastructure across the water and power sectors. Ranging from wastewater treatment plants to power stations. We design and construct the following assets; power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, water and waste water treatment plans and water pipelines.

About the role UGL Utilities team is currently looking for an experienced Contracts Manager for our Genex Kidson Project involving the design, construction and installation of a high voltage transmission line from Kidston to Mt Fox in Queensland, and a new 275kV switching station located at Mt Fox. The position will be based in our head office in Southbank, Brisbane. 

The Contracts Administrator is responsible for managing all commercial, contractual and financial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with and obligations and objectives are met at a project and company level. Advising Project Managers on appropriate course of action and ensure the project team effectively minimises risks.

Some key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Provide assistance and guidance to UGL staff, including project managers, project engineers and contracts administrators on commercial and contract administration matters. 
• Put in place plans and procedures at a project level that address commercial issues and ensure contract compliance with time bars, submissions, notices and the like 
• Assist in the resolution of disputes etc., in conjunction with the UGL Commercial Manager and where applicable, Legal personnel. 
• Assist in preparing subcontract terms and conditions for Project Managers, in accordance with UGL contractual strategies. 
To be successful you will require • Degree or Diploma in Business, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent
• Understanding of construction principals and legal arguments 
• Delay / disruption and claim experience required 
• Proven capacity for successful negotiation and influence in a challenging and complex environment
• Sound knowledge and practical experience in the application of commercial and contract law
• Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
