We are seeking a Contract Manager to join our Belmont Desalination Project where your contributions will directly impact our major infrastructure projects.

35 hour working week.Reward and Recognition Program.Base salary range between 132,321.00 - 151,960.00 plus Superannuation.The Opportunity As the Contract Manager for the Belmont Desalination Project, you will be at the forefront of delivering one of Hunter Water's most complex and strategic initiatives. Your role will focus on ensuring robust and effective contract and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the successful delivery of the Belmont Desalination Plant by managing supplier contracts and creating fit-for-purpose commercial strategies.Administering contract documentation, ensuring all obligations are effectively managed.Performing quantity surveying of payment claims and ensuring contract terms are adhered to.Leading negotiations, managing variations, and resolving disputes in a proactive, professional manner.Managing project compliance and probity requirements to align with NSW Government and Hunter Water standards.Providing commercial insights and lessons learned, ensuring continuous improvement and value for money.What you'll need to be successful: You'll thrive in a dynamic environment, where your skills in negotiation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement will directly impact the success of a major infrastructure project.
Essential Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, or a related field, or 10+ years of commercial and contract experience.Comprehensive experience managing contracts and delivering successful outcomes, with strong attention to detail, communication skills, document control, and reporting.Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and issue/dispute resolution, supported by detailed contract management.Well-developed business/commercial acumen with a focus on customer service.Demonstrated experience in leading teams to support complex problem-solving and proactively challenge the status quo.Desirable Criteria: Postgraduate qualifications in business, commercial law, or a related field.Relevant experience in project management, engineering, or a related field.Experience working in a regulated environment, utility, or government sector.Application Steps: To be considered for this position applicants must submit a cover letter addressing the Selection Criteria and provide a current resume.
