Our Purpose TasRecycle is an exciting new business, tasked with the oversight and administration of Tasmania's Container Deposit Scheme ("Recycle Rewards"). At TasRecycle, we are motivated to help keep beverage containers out of landfill, creating clean streams of recycled materials that help to build our Circular Economy by promoting product stewardship of all Beverage Suppliers in Tasmania.
As the appointed Scheme Coordinator for Recycle Rewards, we work with the Tasmanian Government and partners to oversee the building of a large-scale container recycling network which will play a key role in transforming Tasmania's waste and recycling system. Through a 10c refund for every eligible container returned, we will encourage Tasmanians to collect and recycle their beverage containers, making a positive difference to our people, environment, and local industry.

Job Overview:
The Contract Manager – First Suppliers is responsible for overseeing and managing contracts with key suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and negotiating agreements to support the company's procurement strategy. The Contract Manager shall provide contract management support to the Scheme by managing the relationship, obligations, and administration of agreements with the Beverage Industry, Retailers, Wholesalers, and the First Suppliers in the Tasmanian Container Deposit Scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract management & compliance Manage the standard template contract agreements with key Scheme Participants including First Suppliers and Exporters.Establish and maintain strong relationships with First Suppliers and Exporters by serving as TasRecycle's main point of contact for contractual matters.Maintain the product registration database to ensure the integrity of information is maintained, including management of product registrations, pursuing unregistered containers and ensuring information captured is accurate.Manage and optimise record keeping and contract compliance for all contract-related correspondence and documentation.Collaborate with the Finance team to manage and reduce outstanding first suppliers aged debtors and pursue debt recovery on aged debtors not complying.Develop and maintain a strong relationship with First Responsible Suppliers ensuring product registration process and First Supplier contract compliance, in accordance with the appropriate regulations.Liaise with the Shared Service IT provider to maintain the contract management system and the product registration portal.Liaise with the Contact Centre team to ensure a high standard of support is provided to First Suppliers and exporters in a timely manner.Support the Scheme Integrity team to ensure the results of the audits conducted on First Suppliers are implemented.Effectively communicate contract-related information to First Suppliers and Exporters.Manage the end of financial year volume declaration process to ensure accurate submissions are completed in a timely manner.Identify and pursue non-contracted First Suppliers, raising non-compliance matters internally and with TasRecycle as required.Stakeholder relations Effectively manage the relationship between the beverage industry and TasRecycle.Develop and maintain a strong relationship with TasRecycle and First Responsible Suppliers in relation to First Supplier compliance and monitoring.Liaise with the marketing and communications team to assist in the development and implementation of effective communications to First Suppliers.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders include the Executive leadership team and Board. External stakeholders include Beverage suppliers, Exporters, Tasmanian Government, Network Operator, etc.Business Improvement Identify, implement and manage process improvement strategies.Deliver process improvement and implementation of training to staff when required.Foster a culture of process improvement and efficiencies.Work health and safety As an employee of TasRecycle, you have a duty to take reasonable care for your own health and safety and must take reasonable care that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons.About you:
Degree in Business, Law, or a related field.Strong leadership capabilities, communication, and collaboration skills.Proven experience in contract management, particularly with suppliers.Strong knowledge of contract law and procurement processes in Australia.Risk Management and Compliance and Corporate Governance.Legal or contract governance skills, including familiarity with contract documents.Demonstrated experience to plan, prioritise and manage competing timeframes to deliver outcomes within deadlines.Ability to interpret policies and regulations, and the ability to adapt communicative styles to communicate processes to different stakeholder groups.Ability to explain and advocate for organisation procedures and work with key stakeholder groups.This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage key supplier relationships and ensure the company's contracts are aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionLegalIndustriesEnvironmental Services, Community Services, and Environmental Quality Programs #J-18808-Ljbffr
