Slingshot Consulting is looking for a Contract Administrator to join a new team of dynamic project controls specialists working with a range of clients on various exciting large scale capital engineering projects.Slingshot Consulting Australia has recently been established out of an expansion of Slingshot Consulting based in South Africa, specialising in consulting for the mining, energy, infrastructure, and petrochemical sectors for asset owners, engineers, and contractors.Slingshot Consulting offers services in project management, project controls, project planning, cost and budget control, contract management, and claims and disputes.The Contract Administrator role, based out of Perth or Brisbane, requires involvement in large scale engineering capital projects, to coordinate the various project and contract management activities of the construction and other contractors. It will entail engagement and management of the project contractors and vendors in line with the contract, with inputs from the project manager, engineers, and other contractors. Management of the project contracts will require engaging the various contractors to verify and oversee progress, as well as negotiation and management of any variations as per the contract. Reporting to the project team and various executive shareholders on the progress of the project contracts on a regular basis and if required, highlighting any deviations or mitigation strategies for delays.Key role functions:Manage contractual communication within specified contract turnaround times.Assess reported contract schedule progress.Confirm contract deliverables and works completion (including document/drawing deliverables).Manage and coordinate internal payment claim measurement and approvals with the assistance of site teams.Assessment and negotiation of contractor variations and claims.Work and interface with the professional teams, i.e., Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants.Minimum Requirements:8-10 years proven experience as a contracts administrator on large scale capital construction projects.Demonstrated use of both Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.Exposure to multi-disciplinary contract management and activity coordination (Civil & Earthworks, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation).Exposure on capital projects as part of a client/owners team, as well as EPCM or contractor team.Project Management or Project Planning Certification.Very good communication and negotiation skills.Valid right to work in Australia.Experience in the following areas is advantageous:Experience with application of PMP, Prince 2, or similar methodologies to large scale capital projects.Development or understanding of detailed project programmes with inputs from project leads and bills of quantities.Reporting on programme, project, and contractor performance. Clear understanding of the use of a master schedule, with detailed phase or contractors' sub-schedules.Use of earned value analysis and methods applied to contractors' progress measurement.Demonstrated contractor contract variation management, including exposure to claim analysis and entitlement determination.Overseeing contractors' works and performing independent assessments of progress.Contracts management and understanding of standard contract conditions.Schedule and contract management exposure.Ability and appetite to travel to remote sites and do rotation-based work is essential. There is no immediate requirement in this regard; however, the nature of the role will likely require this commitment for some client assignments in the future.Roles are available based out of Perth WA, as well as Brisbane QLD, with travel to various client sites across Australia as required per specific assignment.Salary will depend on the candidate's experience and skill level.Australian right to work is essential.
