What you'll be doing: This is an exciting role developing and implementing strategic communications across various business functions to drive high-impact media and social coverage which supports Virgin Australia Group objectives. In this role, you will develop strategies and plans to increase positive SOV through media and influencer activity which align with key business initiatives, as well as enhance the visibility of our leaders. You will lead a range of communications activity including media relations, influencer engagement, content development, famils, event activations and sponsorships. You will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders and also provide strategic counsel to assist with the management of media issues and handling crisis to minimise reputational impact.
You'll be great in this role if you: Have 8-10+ years' experience in consumer PR/communications or similarAre experienced developing and executing PR and earned media strategies for consumer brands, particularly those in the travel and tourism spaceHave a flair for crafting clear and compelling written content with strong news valueAre a master at creating brand-aligned content for a range of communications needs, including media pitching and socialHave an extensive network of established relationships with media, influencers and key opinion leadersAre passionate about PR and have a strong understanding of the media landscape, including social media platforms, and the role they play in consumer communicationsCome with experience working in an issues rich, fast paced environmentCan build strong interpersonal relationshipsAre capable of influencing and negotiating with a range of stakeholders to maximise business outcomesAre a strong creative thinker and problem solver with the ability to manage multiple projects at onceTertiary Education in PR, Journalism, Communications or similar disciplinesHave previous agency experience (desirable)What you'll get from us: We're committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including (but not limited to):
