About the Role:
Our Mitcham head office is ready to welcome its next Consulting Engineer to the team. If you have a keen eye for analysing and problem-solving onsite, quality workmanship, enjoy finding the source of an issue, and desire to help those needing technical knowledge, then this is the role for you!
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct forensic engineering inspections of properties, structures and buildings to identify defects, and deficiencies, evaluate compliance, and determine liabilities in relevance to the project.
Prepare detailed engineering causation and building reports for defective or incomplete work, make good reports, protection works advice, illegal building work advice, stage inspection reports, dilapidation reports, condition reports, and other reports as required.
Provide ongoing advocacy for specified clients.
Assist in the preparation of further engagement requirements for existing projects.
Provide expert witness testimony in VCAT or the courts, as required.
Stay updated with relevant Government legislation, standards, and codes related to building and construction.
Participate in regular production meetings and training sessions.
Attend occasional industry-related functions.

To Be Amazing in This Role:
You are a people person – with a genuine passion for assisting in identifying and resolving technical engineering site issues. Your experience in the construction industry will be pivotal and will provide a great platform to expand your expertise within our wider team.
Must-Haves:

Experience in commercial and domestic building practices, understanding building regulations, codes, and standards, and being able to demonstrate the ability to interpret technical building matters.
Extensive technical experience in structural/civil/building disciplines.
Demonstrate and interpret extensive technical building details.
You are currently a registered engineering practitioner, with a tertiary degree, registration with Engineers Australia NER, and a BLA professional engineer registration.
A methodical and efficient approach to managing your time.
Be well-presented, energetic, polite, and have a friendly attitude.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to produce technical reports using Word and Excel.
Possess an above-competent level of computer skills and be familiar with the Microsoft suite of products.
Full driver's license and reliable vehicle.
