We are expanding our team and looking for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join the Climate Change and Sustainability Services team to be based in Canberra (While Canberra is the preferred location, applicants based in Sydney or Melbourne will also be considered). The EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services team is the biggest sustainability consulting team in Oceania. Our multidisciplinary teams help governments and companies understand the risks and opportunities arising from climate change and sustainability issues to help them drive performance and transparency. Our team works across the full spectrum of sustainability and climate change issues, including environmental, social, and governance ("ESG") strategy, outcomes measurement, climate risk and decarbonisation, economics, policy, and regulation through advisory and assurance engagements.Your key responsibilitiesContribute to strategy, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks, and tools to support government policy or regulatory advisory engagements relating to decarbonisation and sustainability strategiesDeveloping financial, economic, or emissions models to analyze complex projectsDeveloping and applying frameworks and methods for assessing economic and financial impact or examining policy options and regulatory impacts and/or advising on regulatory compliance issuesDeveloping clear, well-written, and easy-to-understand reports and presentations based on your analysis to assist our clients in understanding complex problemsContributing to assignments by ensuring that work products and services are client-focused, clear, accurate, and well-presentedAssisting clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies, develop targets, and implement plans to enhance sustainability value for a broad range of sustainability topics, including diversity, waste, modern slavery, and environmental impactsWhat we're looking forHere's our 'wish list' but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes. We are looking for a Consultant and Senior Consultant with a passion for sustainability and ideally:Tertiary qualification, such as in science, agricultural science, economics, or accountingParticular interest in agriculture, water, and regional development desired1-3 years experience in climate change services (either in professional services, industry, or government), government policy or regulationAbility to work independently across multiple engagements with overlapping deadlinesAgility to learn and adapt on the job, ask the right questions and strive for the best solutions for clientsKnowledge of climate change and sustainability regulations, policies, international frameworksAn interest in sustainabilityWhat we can offer youAcknowledgement of Country: EY acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which EY offices are located around Australia.
