The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. About the role: This position is responsible for assisting with the strategic direction and delivery of the employee wellbeing and support programs for departmental staff. Aimed at reducing workplace risk, injury, and absenteeism, the role provides specialist advice and guidance regarding the health, safety, and wellbeing of all staff in line with the department's strategic commitments to creating a safe and healthy workplace.
The role requires both technical expertise and understanding of internal policy, procedures, and state legislation. The role also requires an ability to foster partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Specialist Expertise: Demonstrated high level understanding of and expertise in the design, implementation and embedding of programs relating to prevention, early intervention, and appropriate response is expected. Detailed knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 is expected.
