Details of the offer

About Baringa:
We set out to build the world's most trusted consulting firm – creating lasting impact for clients and pioneering a positive, people-first way of working. We work with everyone from FTSE 100 names to bright new start-ups, in every sector.
You'll find us collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients, from the big picture right down to the detail: helping them define their strategy, deliver complex change, spot the right commercial opportunities, manage risk, or bring their purpose and sustainability goals to life. Our clients love how we get to know what makes their organisations tick – slotting seamlessly into their teams and being proudly geeky about solving their challenges.
As a Certified B Corporation, we've proven that we've built social and environmental good into every bit of what we do.
We have hubs in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, and we work all around the world - from a wind farm in Wyoming to a boardroom in Berlin. Find us wherever there's a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.
Our growing Financial Services practice is looking for an experienced Consultant to join the team in Sydney.
Our goal is to deliver tangible business benefits to our clients, whilst keeping both the market and consumers safe. Our risk experts, ex-regulators, and industry specialists work across the entire Financial Services industry, working alongside our clients to achieve outcomes that go beyond compliance. With a track record for effective delivery, we design and deliver bespoke solutions to help unpick regulation and identify and mitigate a broad spectrum of financial and non-financial risks.
What you will be doing
You will be playing a key role in risk and regulatory engagements across financial services, areas of work will include:
Undertaking impact assessments of key non-financial regulations across Operational Resilience (e.g. CPS230/900), Conduct Risk (e.g. FAR). Conducting Control Effectiveness reviews and designing, uplifting and implementing changes to controls, leveraging best practice to enhance the overall control environment. Understanding how products are structured, sold and processed and considering how each of these phases will need to change in light of regulatory or process improvement initiatives. Mobilising complex regulatory change programmes - creating project plans and managing the delivery of these programmes. Creating and implementing control frameworks across all aspects of Non-Financial Risk such as: Conflicts of Interest, Conduct Risk, Operational Risk, Cyber Security, Digital and Data Risk etc. Restructuring global business operations to be more efficient when considering thematic impacts resulting from various regulatory regimes. Transforming front and back-office Finance, Risk and Compliance processes to increase efficiency and optimise capacity. As we are a growing business, you will also have the exciting opportunity to be involved in supporting the development of the team, through:
Developing our go-to market propositions in line with industry trends and client demand. Raising visibility of our capability, both internally and externally. Supporting the development of innovative thought leadership. Working with our global experts to determine how we leverage our global experience in the local market. Playing a lead role in business development activities by identifying new opportunities, growing our domestic network and responding to requests for proposals etc. Your skills and experience
Experience:
You have 3+ years work experience. You have consulting experience which may well also be combined with industry experience. You'll have experience in performing regulatory impact assessments. You'll have regulatory change project delivery experience within a management consultancy or an internal change function. You will have experience working across some of the areas listed above, though it is not expected that you have experience in all areas. Skills:

You are an excellent communicator and possess great presentation skills. You are a team player who is at their best when working as part of a team.
