Main duties of the job Thisposition is the senior clinical decision maker within the department.
Without this post being filled there would bea significant reduction in the ability of the Defence Community Mental Health (DCMH)to provide clinical and advisory support or supervise other Mental Health activities.

Job description Job responsibilities The main duties include but are not limited to:Providing effective care, withan approach based on recovery and rehabilitation, to Service Personnel (SP) andentitled civilians, with timely access to skilled and effective assessment,treatment and occupational recommendations that meets the needs of the individualand the Chain of Command (CoC).Undertaking research in mentalhealth and mental wellbeing.Acting in a command liaisonrole to support both case management and organisational initiatives, includinghealth promotion aimed at mental wellbeing and welfare as resources allow.Providing clinical educationto primary care staff to enhance their capability to manage mental healthproblems, and to support their responsibilities in addressing the mentalwellbeing of all personnel.For full list of duties and responsibilities please refer to Job description and person specification attached.Selection ProcessThe selection at sift stage will be based on your CV.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Certificate of Specialist Training or equivalent in General Adult or forensic Psychiatry Desirable Masters of Sciences (MSc) relevant to mental health Experience Essential Current/recent clinical experience Ability to travel independently to places of duty Desirable Full driving licence Memberships Essential GMC registration with licence to practice.
Member or Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent based on a foundation medical degree.
