Consultant Psychiatrist - Open Dialogue Community TeamConsultant Psychiatrist at Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services - Open Dialogue Community TeamCurrent opportunities are available: 35hpfn based at our new Lincoln Square site in Carlton.Join a dynamic group of Consultant Psychiatrists committed to high quality and compassionate care for consumers with mental health issues and their carers in this new role as part of a translational research project auspiced through the Victorian Collaborative Centre of Mental Health and Wellbeing with an Open Dialogue approach.The Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Service (MHS) has multiple opportunities available for Consultant Psychiatrists to join our vibrant teams as part of the expansion of our mental health program. We have recently opened our innovative new acute inpatient unit with additional acute beds and the RMH Emergency Dept Crisis Hub, plus continue to develop our service in line with the Royal Commission with plans for pioneering new community projects and work as the lead mental health service with the Victoria Collaborative Centre.We are seeking team-oriented and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrists to join our multidisciplinary setting and be a part of our inclusive and compassionate culture. We have potential opportunities with our inpatient and community teams.In this new role, the Consultant Psychiatrist is to provide clinical leadership as a key member of the RMH MHS integrated Open Dialogue Community Mental Health Team; an innovative initiative being piloted in the City of Melbourne area (Carlton, North Melbourne, CBD) as part of a translational research project auspiced through the Victorian Collaborative Centre of Mental Health and Wellbeing. The team will include both clinical and lived and living experience peer support workforce with a focus on participation of the consumers family/support network from the beginning of their engagement with the team.In this role, the Consultant Psychiatrist will work in partnership with other Consultants and the Program Manager and applies their clinical knowledge and expertise to provide support consistent with the open dialogue approach, maintaining a high standard of clinical care and leadership of the clinical team by demonstrating the RMH values to achieve best outcomes for consumers within our care.About us:Royal Melbourne Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, specialist and integrated services to people with serious mental illness in the inner west part of Melbourne, including parts of the CBD. We have a multidisciplinary workforce of ~ 700 staff providing mental health care across acute Inpatient Units, the RMH Emergency Department, Consultation Liaison at RMH, Rehabilitation Services (CCU/PARC), Community programs, Eating disorders and Neuropsychiatry.About you:Compassionate, caring and patient-focused.Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Strive for the highest level of consumer-focused care at all times.Ability to problem solve in a complex and ever-changing environment.Hold current registration with AHPRA.It would be desirable if applicants have training in the use of Open Dialogue principles in a clinical setting.Plus experience in the application of translational research principles.Our Commitment to you:Career progression opportunities to suit your professional development goals.We have a commitment to training, education and CPD activities are fully supported.You will enjoy excellent work-life balance.
