Mental Health Service Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. This position is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our new Mental Health Service facility with roles available in the adult, older adult and consultant liaison teams. Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) recently opened an impressive, recovery-focused 102-bed Mental Health Service offering adult inpatient care, and for the first time, is catering for youth (16-24 years) and older adult (65+ years) inpatients.
The Service offers open and secure accommodation, and beds are opening in a staged approach. JHC also operates a ten-bed Emergency Department, Mental Health Observation Area (MHOA) and a Consultation-Liaison service.
JHC is one of the largest hospitals in Western Australia, treating more than 70,000 inpatients on average annually. JHC invites applications from Consultant Psychiatrists.We value a work-life balance and respect flexible work arrangements, so please let us know your availability.Sessional consulting rooms are also available for private practice, so don't hesitate to contact us for more information on how we can support your practice.The successful applicant/s for this position will join a multidisciplinary team (Psychiatrists, Registrars, RMO/Intern, nursing staff, allied health, clinical psychologist, alcohol and other drug in-reach service) involved in the assessment and management of people within the newly built mental health unit at JHC.The JHC MHU is a 102-bed unit, and the hospital has a dedicated, consultant-led consultation/liaison team and a Mental Health Observation Area (MHOA team). The Mental Health Observation Area is adjacent to the emergency department.Psychiatry at JHC provides teaching and training for RANZCP trainees, participates in the hospital's postgraduate medical education program, and provides undergraduate education to medical students.
There is a consultants' after-hours roster to provide after-hours on-call and call-back Service to MHU, MHOA and CL.
Remuneration: Salary range, depending on experience - Year 1-9 consultant (Total package range $361,466 - $452,888 pro rata). Current AHPRA registrationFellowship of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.Experience in adult inpatient psychiatry.What's in it for you?
