The service provides the full range of specialist public mental health services to a population of approximately 70,000 people across an area of 25,000 square kilometres. Whilst most services are physically located in Mildura, the service provides outreach programs to the smaller outlying rural communities.The Role:As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide leadership in the provision of high-quality psychiatric services to our clients. There are two excellent opportunities available, Full Time and Part Time (0.4 FTE) commencing January 2025.To be successful in this role, you will have:Primary medical degree and specialist qualifications in Psychiatry.Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or eligibility for Fellowship.Experience in crisis intervention and home treatment settings is highly desirable.Strong commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement.Candidates must hold specialist qualifications in Psychiatry (FRANZCP) or equivalent and registration with AHPRA. The base salary range is $255,706 to $351,601 pa depending on experience as well as a rural incentive allowance.Relocation assistance:Up to $20,000 incentive payment applies to eligible candidates. Be reimbursed for rent, childcare, school fees, relocation costs and more.The Victorian Government has allocated funds to support rural and regional Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide incentives to attract workers to roles that are difficult to fill.
