The service consists of six large regional health campuses located at country regional centres and 15 district health campuses that act as hubs for sub-regional health district services. The Inpatient Unit consists of 30 beds, with 23 beds located on the open ward (Acute Psychiatric Unit), and 7 beds on the secured ward (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit). In addition to the Inpatient Unit, which is primarily dedicated to servicing individuals experiencing the most acute stage of their psychiatric illness, who cannot be adequately treated in their own homes or in less restrictive settings, South West Mental Health service currently delivers an array of Programs, including, but not limited to:
• Upper and Lower South West Community Mental Health Clinics, including:
o Child and Adolescent (0-16)
o Youth (16-18)
o Adult (18-65)
o Older Adult (65+)
• Specialised Aboriginal Mental Health services
• South West Step-Up Step-Down Clinical In Reach services, in partnership with Richmond Wellbeing.
• Youth Severe services, in partnership with WA Primary Health Alliance
• Community Assessment and Support Team (CAST)
• Individualised Community Living Strategy (ICLS)
• Consultation liaison services
• Alcohol and Drug consultation services
• Western Australia Eating Disorder consultation service
• Hospital bed-based services, peer support program
