Medical Specialists (Healthcare & Medical)Government - State (Government & Defence) Consultant Psychiatrist - CAMHS - Albany HospitalWestern Australia - Country Health ServiceThis is a recruitment pool offering Permanent full time/part-time – up to 80 hours per fortnight appointments.About the Roleand Mental Health DepartmentThe Great Southern Mental Health service is well established and involved Child and Adolescent, general Adult and Older Adult services in the community, Consultant Liaison service to the general hospital wards and a 16-bed adult inpatient unit. The CAMHS team includes an existing psychiatrist, registrar, psychologist, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, and Aboriginal mental health workers. The CAMHS team is based in the community clinic in Albany, with outreach to other towns in the region. They see the full range of conditions in the 0-18 age range and work closely with the local paediatric team and other local youth services as well as adult mental health services to ensure a smooth transition of care. There is also well-established links with the local Rural Clinical School and Universities for research and teaching opportunities. The team is committed to service improvement and is always looking for ways to maximise early access to assessment and treatment and to services such as Family Based Therapy which give young people in the region the best chance at success.CAMHS is co-located with the other mental health services in the region. There are currently a total of 5 psychiatrists and 7 registrars which provides a strong local and supportive peer group.
