About the Role
This position calls for a highly experienced educator with enthusiasm and commitment to work in a challenging and rewarding role, providing Catholic educational leadership for learning and teaching services through coordination, advocacy, representation and delivery of services to support the Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns.
The consultant is a member of the Engagement Wellbeing and Learning Directorate. Engagement Wellbeing and Learning leads in the development and implementation of effective and contemporary approaches to inclusive education. We strive towards improving models of inclusion and empowerment of all students within their learning communities.
The consultant will provide designated leadership, service and support in the area of English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) through working collaboratively with school communities and directorates in the diocese in accord with policies, regulations and guidelines and the Diocesan Strategic Plan.
Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements
Essential:
A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education.
Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, working towards completion, or preparedness to commence.
A minimum of five years' teaching experience.
Current Queensland College of Teachers Registration.
Registration with associated professional regulatory body.
Unless an exemption applies, all staff are required to hold a current Working With Children Blue Card or be eligible to apply.
Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers.
Current driver licence.
