16 intensive care beds for adults and paed patients.
Range of intensive care outreach services.
ICU admits 800 people annually - approx.
60 paeds(managed collaboratively with specialist paediatricians) and 100 elective procedural admissions.
Established leadership team in ICU with very strong relationships across the hospital and health service.
Active education program which supports a case mix which includes trauma, interventional cardio, general surgery, infectious diseases, tropical medicine.
Selection criteria FCICM or equivalent.
High level knowledge and skills across a range of intensive care medicine with ability to work independently in a regional ICU.
Experience in caring independently for unwell paediatric patients As team leader in the ICU you will be able to manage processes of assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfers and discharges in a fast moving critical care environment.
First class communication skills.
Adaptable - to quickly fit into a small , high performance team.
Interest in educating and developing junior medical staff including ability to teach under and postgrad levels.
Commitment to best practice clinical governance and quality improvement.
