Your Role at St John of God Midland Hospital You will provide specialist Intensive Care medicine to adult medical/medical subspecialty, surgical, obstetric, and toxicologic patients within the Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Unit. The position is for a twelve-month fixed term part-time position at .75 Fte.
The Position Manage the ICU and HDU team, including trainees, nursing, and ancillary staffCollaborate with local and outside hospital medical and surgical specialistsAdmission, management, discharge and transfer of ICU/HDU patientsTwice daily bedside roundsParticipate in twice weekly multidisciplinary roundsParticipate in evening, night and weekend shifts as per the roster, including participation on the on-call rosterAfterhours management of ICU/HDU patients and assist hospital-wide with unstable or complex patientsParticipate in the training and supervision of ICU trainees, nursing staff, and ancillary staffLead ICU outreach and Medical Emergency Response teamTheatre, ward and ED consultationsTotal parenteral nutrition supportIntra-hospital and inter-hospital transport of critically ill patientsProvide specialist Intensive Care services to patients within the hospitalYou will have Registration by the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.
You will have demonstrated substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment and be competent in the common ICU procedures.
