The primary role is to provide medical care to patients as a geriatrician while sharing responsibility with the team across acute, sub-acute and aged care and working effectively to continuously improve and develop the service. About you: A tertiary qualification, Certificate, Registration, or Licence in the appropriate medical speciality. Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential – MBBD MD or equivalent Appropriate speciality qualifications such as Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent is essential Must have a proven track record of excellence in aged care with a demonstrated commitment to continued improvement, team work and ideally research Must have a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to education of themselves, their colleagues, junior staff, other team members and medical students Must have a demonstrated commitment to organisational quality processes and other activities that improve patient care Solid knowledge of aged care with skills to manage complex patients Previous experience in the gerontology area.
