About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our Clinical Gastroenterology Unit.
In this role, you will provide high-quality consultative and procedural care to patients, contributing to both general and after-hours emergency gastroenterology services.
A key focus will be on leading our Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Service, where you'll play a pivotal role in the delivery and ongoing development of specialised IBD care.
As a Consultant, you will also oversee the collection and audit of clinical data, ensuring excellent patient outcomes, and actively support an innovative clinical research program within the Department.
You will supervise and guide a team of trainee medical officers, registrars, and fellows, fostering professional development and excellence in clinical practice.

About You
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist who meets the following key requirements:
Qualifications : MBBS with FRACP in Gastroenterology (or equivalent) and current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Clinical Excellence : Proven skills in Gastroenterology procedures (gastroscopies, colonoscopies, PEG insertions) with a strong commitment to quality care and patient outcomes.
Experience & Research : Extensive experience in IBD care, clinical diagnostics, and a documented track record in research and teaching.
Teamwork & Leadership : Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, supervise staff, and contribute to the development of training programs and quality initiatives.
