We are currently looking for a suitably experienced Gastroenterologist Physician seeking a permanent role in Victoria.
This is a great opportunity for a rewarding career change at a large regional tertiary referral hospital with a growing role in teaching and the professional development of Interns, HMOs and Registrars. The department are flexible on either a Full Time Staff Specialist appointment or Part Time Fractional appointment/s which may be negotiated.
As a consultant physician you will be expected to practice within your scope of practice reporting to the Clinical Director of Medicine for operational matters and to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Professional ones. This is a great opportunity to join an enthusiastic team of medical professionals at a health service which covers about 300,000 population in Central Victoria across a large geographical area.

This is a 700 bed service that treats more than 45,000 inpatients, triages more than 65,000 emergency attendees and welcomes more than 1,600 new born babies in a year. In addition more than 15,000 operations are performed in our operating theatres and more than 100,000 occasions of services are provided in the clinics to outpatients. The organisation provides services in emergency, maternity, women's health, medical imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, community services, residential aged care, psychiatric care, community dental, hospice/palliative care, cardiology, cancer services and renal dialysis to the people of the region.
You will be based at one of Victoria's fastest growing regional cities making it a great city to live and work in. Melbourne city centre is 2 hours away and just 1 hour 25 minutes from Tullamarine (Melbourne) airport. To assist the surgeons and physicians in the practice with new and follow up patients by providing additional information and psychological support 2. New patient triage and ensuring all necessary results relevant to the consultation are present 3. Review and triage of incoming results 4. Answer enquiries from new and existing patients about clinical care and psychological concerns via phone or email 5. Cancer genetics assessment, counselling, and testing. (Cancer risk assessment for those who may be at elevated risk for breast cancer development- ongoing follow up or management of women at high-risk for breast cancer) 6. Post operative wound care and assessment of complications 7. Assist in ordering and interpreting imaging 8. Provide cancer survivorship assessments and plan 9. Generate referrals to other specialities based on the assessment of the multidisciplinary team and clinical need 10. Coordinate with hospital breast care nurses, preadmission clinic and other staff as appropriate, regarding pre and post operative patient issues Qualification & Experience Minimum 5 years experience as a nurse practitioner in the breast cancer field Proven experience in providing medical oncology and surgical oncology care to breast cancer patients.
