We currently have an opening for a Boiler & Machinery Consultant Engineer based in either our Melbourne or Sydney office.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Responsibilities: Interact with high hazard FM clients within the Mining, Power Generation, Chemical, Forest Products-Pulp & Paper, and similar industries.
Use expertise to consult with clients to protect their facilities against mechanical and electrical breakdowns, fire, and many other hazards.
Develop strong client relationships to advise on risks associated with client businesses.
Develop and implement risk improvement strategies.
The role will work from both an office location and home office, and travel to clients' facilities regularly.
The role involves international travel to the U.
S in the first 12-18 months, as part of the Consultant Engineer training, and frequent domestic travel (approx.
60-80 nights away each year after the training period).

5+ years engineering experience, and time spent working in mining, power generation, or chemical process industries is highly preferred.
Must possess some knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems such as rotating equipment, boilers, generators, system interrelationships, and knowledge of safety devices.
Demonstrated experience to understand basic machinery and equipment along with hands-on exposure.
Valid Passport, and the ability to travel without restrictions and within a few months of hire date, to various global locations including the United States.
This is a requirement of the role, as a significant element of all new engineering hire training is conducted outside of Australia.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in the English language.
Good analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Efficient time management ability with the capability to work independently.
Proven technical capability including diverse knowledge of engineering principles.
Valid driver's license + Passport.
Physical ability to walk up and down stairs, lift 12 kilos, balance, and work safely at heights.
Proficient in MS Office products & comfortable with learning new technologies.
NICE TO HAVE: Knowledge of industrial control systems would be an advantage.
