WA Country Health Service has an exciting opportunity for Emergency Medicine Consultants to join our Kimberley team —experience rewarding work, stunning travel, and an unbeatable team. We have 1.2 FTE available for Permanent or Fixed Term appointments, which can be in a Sessional, Part-Time, or Full-Time capacity. We are open to flexible working and job share arrangements. The Opportunity As a Kimberley FACEM based primarily in Broome, you will work alongside highly skilled emergency medicine Rural Generalists in the Broome Hospital Emergency Department (ED).
This is a regional role with a remit for supporting the rural generalists in smaller WACHS Kimberley hospital EDs, and travel to the regional sites is a requirement of the position.
The Broome Hospital ED is a busy regional department seeing around 30,000 presentations per year.
The ED sees a broad case mix including a significant number of high acuity and trauma presentations as well as receiving inter-hospital transfers from smaller hospital sites across the Kimberley Region.
This position offers experienced Emergency Consultants the opportunity to develop and implement their unique scope of practice in a rural emergency medicine setting where they would be joining a generalist team who have been the pillar of emergency care delivery in the Kimberley.
This position will promote patient quality and safety, building strong hospital morale and valuing the community and diversity within cultures.
The successful applicant will demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to nurturing the existing empowered multidisciplinary team culture.
As a Kimberley FACEM, the successful applicant will have a significant role in teaching and training, with a remit for supervision of Interns, RMO's and Registrars across the region, and there is an expectation that they will develop and lead an ACEM certificate training program.
