The Opportunity As a consultant with the Abt Australia Domestic Programs Team, you will play an integral role in delivering key components of domestic consulting projects and supporting business development efforts.
Core Responsibilities The Consultant is responsible for:
Supporting tender responses in collaboration with the Domestic Consulting Team, including but not limited to:Conducting and documenting proposal researchDeveloping evaluation approaches and methodologiesTaking responsibility for the delivery of key components of consulting projects across the complete project life cycle (plan, design, implement, and report), including but not limited to:ResearchLiterature reviewsSurvey design and administrationQuantitative data collection and analysisStakeholder engagement (e.g., telephone interviews, surveys, face-to-face consultation)Synthesis and analysis of findings and report writingParticipating in and supporting project management meetings through activities including preparing agendas, developing and updating issues logs, and recording actions/taking minutes.Managing a range of tasks concurrently, and working collaboratively and flexibly with the Domestic Programs team to support broader team priorities, including at short notice as directed.Supporting robust and high-quality project management practices in accordance with Abt's project management methodology (PMBOK) and software (One2Team).Supporting the development of the consulting practice through activities including but not limited to the development and maintenance of webpages, LinkedIn and other social media platforms; marketing or other promotional materials; and boilerplates and templates for proposals and projects.Supporting administrative activities (e.g., contracts, sub-contracts, invoicing) and logistics (e.g., travel and accommodation) for business development and the implementation of projects.Contributing to company-wide system/process improvements and corporate initiatives and meetings.Participating in personal and corporate professional development activities.Undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed.What We Value Bachelor's degree in health-related sciences including social sciences with 3 years working experience or master's degree in health-related sciences including social sciences with one year of experience.Knowledge of and experience in qualitative methodologies, analysis, interpretation, and reporting. Previous experience and competency in quantitative methodologies, analysis, descriptive statistics, interpretation, and reporting (use of tools such as R or STATA is desirable but not mandatory).Highly developed communication skills; verbal, written, professional report writing, and dissemination, publications.Good understanding of the Australian health care sector.Understanding of the broader human service sector such as justice & re-integration, mental health, aged care, or indigenous affairs.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team.Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.Preferable to have previous experience in a consultancy role and/or project management across the entire project life cycle.Preferable to have experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities, and organisations.Preferable to have experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people, communities, and organisations.Bachelor's Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree.Australia working rights are required.What We Offer Abt is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse workforce.
