The Department of Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine is committed to the achievement of best practice in the design and delivery of services to its patients.
This involves the pursuit of quality improvement and innovation in every aspect of its operation.
In this role, you will be actively involved in the teaching of trainee medical officers, interns and medical students.
Furthermore, you will participate in clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities, as well as research and continuous medical education activities.
The work is challenging and rewarding with a broad range of services including: A 24-hour emergency anaesthesia service.
Major surgery including colorectal, upper GI, liver, urology, breast-endocrine and gynaecology.
Major orthopaedics including arthroplasty, revision surgery and trauma.
Busy obstetric unit with over 3000 deliveries/year and a 24-hour epidural service.
Other surgical specialities include paediatrics, ENT, plastics, ophthalmology, ECT, gastroenterology and bronchoscopy.
24-hour acute pain service with daily rounds.
Expanding development in peri-op medicine.
Ongoing QI, audit, research and CME activities.

Skills & Qualifications required: To be successful it is essential that you hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist Registration.
