scouted. are proud to have been engaged exclusively by one of the most exciting and active ASX Listed Retirement Living & Aged Care Developers in Victoria. With several new acquisitions in mainly urban infill areas and approximately four new Development sites in various stages of Construction, this role is a critical hire for the Australian Developments team as they ramp up their building program.
We are looking for an experienced Construction and Quality Manager to oversee site-based construction activities for the Village projects in Victoria. You'll play a crucial role in implementing the health and safety policy and achieving high-quality standards, being the "champion" of Quality for the Victorian business. Reporting to the Head of Development, you will be responsible for ensuring project success through proactive risk management, effective communication, and strong team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:Safety and Quality: Advocate for a safety-first culture with a zero-harm environment. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and oversee defect and sustainability reporting.Project Management: Collaborate with Development Managers to monitor each project phase, from pre-construction to handover. Manage project schedules, defect resolution, and construction handover materials.Risk and Issue Management: Identify and address risks early. Develop risk mitigation strategies and maintain proactive management practices.Building Collaborative Relationships: Establish strong partnerships with stakeholders across all levels, promoting Summerset's values on-site.Supply Chain Management: Work closely with the commercial team to ensure supply chain performance meets project needs.Pre-Construction: Address design/buildability issues and participate in tender preparation to assess value and commerciality.Construction and Commissioning: Act as superintendent on civil contracts and oversee project control processes. Support successful project delivery within budget and timeline.Handover and Village Initiation: Facilitate the seamless handover of completed villages to operations teams and maintain coordination with sales and operations staff.Qualifications and Experience:Relevant qualifications in building, construction, or project management.Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects, experience in Retirement and Aged Care is a huge bonus!Strong project management and risk assessment skills.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.A collaborative approach to team management and stakeholder engagement.Ability to lead and embed the group values within project teams.Ability to apply risk assessment and management principles.Ability to apply quality management principles.Why Join Us?This organisation is dedicated to creating safe and thriving communities.
