About the roles
We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our Coffey Testing Muswellbrook Laboratory team who are vital in ensuring the quality and safety of the construction materials used in some of Australia's largest rail, mining and infrastructure projects. We have a number of full-time roles available for both entry-level (trainee) and experienced CMT Technicians.
Our entry-level roles are targeting keen individuals looking to kick start their career in the construction materials testing industry. These roles are well suited to school leavers or applicants with a passion for hands-on, physical work. We provide on-the-job training complemented with external formal qualification to give you the necessary skills to create opportunities for yourself across our business. The roles involve:
Undertaking a variety of manual tasks involved in preparing and testing soil & concrete samples in laboratory and/or field environment; Liaising with Coffey Testing's client on testing schedules, procedures and results; Ensuring testing is performed in accordance with industry standards; Undertaking basic quality assurance checks; Ensuring accuracy of test results and timely output of work. About you
We invite both entry-level and applicants with experience in CMT testing to apply as there are multiple positions available.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate some or all of the following criteria:
Has sound experience in field and laboratory construction materials testing to Australian standards or is looking to start a career in construction materials testing; Holds a current NDM radiation license (desirable) and is competent in its operation; Knowledge of NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements; Has the ability to work autonomously and displays a level of self-motivation; Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to quality assurance and workplace safety; Can work effectively under pressure, prioritising work to meet client demands; Is physically fit and able to perform a manual labour-intensive role which includes heavy lifting. All successful applicants will undergo a medical assessment including drug & alcohol screen as part of our recruitment process.
