UGL's utilities business undertakes essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors. Our end-to-end delivery ranges from transmission lines, switchyards, substations, electrical distribution through to water and wastewater treatment plants and water pipelines.
Our expertise includes the design, construct, commission, operate and maintain where our Utilities Team safely leads and delivers design & construct projects across Australia. Our project delivery extends to include short and long-term contracts either through self-performance works, working with Sub-contractors or through Joint Ventures. Our work spans from the engineering design through to structural, civil, electrical installation works and commissioning.
The Opportunity UGL Utilities team are currently looking for a Construction Manager for a substation and high voltage transmission line project in WA.
About the role Some key responsibilities of this role will include:
Direct and control on site transmission construction activities on project to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met. Interface with engineering, procurement, commercial, quality, material handling and expediting logistic functions to ensure construction activities can take place immediately once on site. Maintain seamless liaison between Engineering, Quality, and document control between all on and off-site project activities. Liaise directly with client to maintain high level customer service relationships. To be successful you will require A minimum of 5 years' industrial/commercial construction experience working on linear projects. Experience in managing and leading a team of people. Knowledge of OHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards as they apply to the construction industry. Strong background dealing with contractor organisations and enforcing compliance with HSEQ performance measures. Demonstrated ability to participate in and contribute to accident/incident investigations, risk assessments and hazard and injury management processes.
