Job Description
About the Opportunity:
We are excited to announce that Acciona has been named the preferred contractor to deliver a major wharf infrastructure project at Port Hedland for Pilbara Ports Authority.
This marks the first stage in the development of the Lumsden Point General Cargo Facility and Logistics Hub (LCGF), a transformative multi-user facility designed to:
Enable the export of critical minerals.
Support the import of renewable energy infrastructure.
Facilitate the import/export of general cargo.
Accommodate the import of bulk liquids such as fuel and chemicals.
To help us deliver this project, we are looking for a seasoned Construction Manager to join our team.
Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will be responsible for the onsite delivery of the project from inception to completion.
At the core of this role is leadership.
In the Project Director's absence, you will take full leadership responsibilities, ensuring your team is working harmoniously to meet the needs of the client and ensuring all project objectives are met.
Key accountabilities for the position:
Ensure that the appropriate resources (including personnel) are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality, environmental and safety procedures are integrated.
Oversee development and implementation of the Project Safety Plan.
Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
Manage construction budgets to allow accurate profit/loss forecasting.
Monitor the financial performance of the project.
Organise and co-ordinate the design team and clearly define design aspects such as who prepares, who reviews and who approves.
Provide ongoing feedback, support, counsel, through informal discussion, regular review and formal performance appraisal and encourages feedback from staff.
Required Skills and Competencies
Relevant Tertiary qualifications.
Preferably 10 years' experience in a construction/engineering environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively with others.
Presented problem-solving/analytical skills.
Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same.
