Position: Construction Estimator
Type of Employment: Full-time (38 hours per week)
Location: Tullamarine, Victoria
Salary: $74,000 + Superannuation
Our Tullamarine office seeks a reliable, hard-working individual to perform the role of Construction Estimator.
Reporting to the Director, you will have the responsibility of managing the complete estimating process for our projects.
Benefits Training and support to allow you thrive in your construction career Latest systems and programmes Work alongside with highly experienced employees in the industry Supportive workplace culture Task & Responsibilities Reviewing and interpreting tender documentation, paying attention to critical details and elements Staying up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices Conducting site visits to gather relevant information and actual conditions to consider for each tender Requesting quotes from suppliers and negotiating with subcontractors Coordinating with clients, builders, architects, and all other relevant entities in confirming and clarifying queries via Requests for Information (RFI)s Presenting value management options and recommendations to achieve desired costs/budget Assisting the Director and General Manager in negotiation and settlement of tenders with builders and/or clients Providing estimating support to the Contracts Administration Team for site variations, ensuring forecast margins are met and all building requirements are adhered to within budget and timelines Qualification & Experience We are seeking an individual who is willing to get involved, motivated, enthusiastic, and prepared to work.
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
You must have a bachelor's degree or higher qualification in civil engineering, or equivalent You must have at least 1 year full-time work experience as a construction estimator or similar roles You must be proficient in utilising engineering and estimating software such as AutoCAD, Excel, and Bluebeam and project management software such as Microsoft Project, MC Office Suite Familiarity with construction packages such as Aconex, Procore, etc. You must have exposure to tiling, waterproofing, screeding, and stone works Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with focus on providing exceptional customer service Ability to process and communicate technical information Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities We are looking for candidates that are wanting a career in construction.
