The Utilities business are the preferred contractor on two of the largest energy infrastructure projects within the Australian energy sector, one of these projects is located in Queensland and the other in New South Wales.
These two exciting opportunities secure a pipeline of work until 2027 and include the design & construction of new transmission lines and substations.
This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced Construction Director to join the Copperstring team.
Reporting into the Project Director, this is a key client-facing role overseeing the construction and project team to meet their objectives and ensure the work performed for the client is delivered successfully and the best in industry.
The Construction Director is responsible and accountable for providing direction and support to all Project Managers on the Project. Responsible for all planning, managing, controlling packages and people to ensure timely completion and compliance with the head contract and in accordance with policies, procedures, guidelines, budgets and plans whilst maximizing efficiency in the use of company resources and realizing maximum profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Manage the program, budgets & deadlines Develop methodologies to ensure compliance with the scope of works and technical criteria Report on progress against program and cost, on risk and developing and implementing risk treatment plans Establish and implement strategic directions agreed with the Project Director for delivery of the project Drive Project efficiency, profitability, consistency across all packages. Coach & Mentor Project Managers to ensure PM Basics including Program / PF Performance Measurement / Accruals / Monthly Reporting / Estimate to Completion including phasing are accurate, PMs are capable or aware of limitations, and there are development plans to upskill Have input into the Risk and Opportunity register for Project that will be managed by the Commercial Director Initiation and effective implementation of continuous productivity improvements and cost reductions What are we looking for you to bring to the team: Minimum 15 years Project Management (or similar senior level) experience, from within Power or general Industrial and/or Infrastructure industries Appropriate technical background with experience on linear projects with a background build & commission operating environment with scope >$1 Billion Proven experience in leading teams through the delivery of large scale commercial construction projects Advanced financial and commercial management. Strong contractual, commercial, IR and compliance management experience Knowledge of OHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards as they apply to the construction industry Strong background dealing with contractor organisations and enforcing compliance with HSEQ performance measures Discipline : Project Management Primary Location Primary Location : Australia-QLD-Brisbane CBD & Inner Suburbs
