Paspaley's core business is in pearling, including pearl production, wholesale, and retail, but the Group also has extensive interests in other sectors including ship repair and engineering, commercial property investment and development, aviation, mixed agriculture, hospitality and accommodation, viticulture and wine making.About the role.A rare opportunity is available for a highly motivated and experienced Construction & Development Project Manager to join Paspaley's Properties & Development Team and work out of our head office in Darwin, Northern Territory.Reporting directly to the Development Manager & General Manager Properties, the successful candidate will lead and manage the development, design plans and construction of commercial projects for the Group, and manage and oversee these projects through to completion, ensuring compliance with quality, budgets and timeline objectives.We're looking for an experienced, strategic and 'hands-on' Construction & Development Project Manager, who can juggle multiple projects while delivering projects focused on built forms of commercial facilities of varying complexities with values ranging between $10m to $100m.The role is responsible for:Project Management & Delivery.Leadership and team management, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.Developing and maintaining relationships with cross-functional teams including other employees, councils and government agencies, regulatory bodies, community members, architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.The proficient financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control strategies of diverse construction and development projects.Preparing and reviewing construction documents, including blueprints, specifications, and contracts, to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals.Reviewing project progress and providing regular updates and reports on projects to the Development Manager & General Manager Properties, with specific focus on highlighting any issues or deviations from the original plan.Contributing to strategic discussions about future and development opportunities.Managing ongoing facilities and maintenance of Paspaley owned assets where required.Construction Management.Managing tender processes where requiredIssuing and managing contracts upon approval from Paspaley Executive Management.Where required manage the bidding process, contractor selection, and contract negotiations.Monitoring and supervising all construction activities on projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.Mitigating construction-related risks, troubleshoot problems, and resolve conflicts or disputes that may arise during the construction process.Managing warranty issues with builders and contractors.The Successful candidate must have.Extensive experience (5+ years) in managing projects in the development and/or construction industry.Sound computer literacy skills in Microsoft suite and other data systems.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationshipsA tertiary qualification in Project Management or be a Master or Registered Builder.A willingness to be a team player in a professional environment.A valid Australian driver's licence.At Paspaley, we are committed to providing a supportive and collaborative work environment that fosters professional growth and work-life balance.
