The Construction Coordinator will manage the sourcing and purchasing of building materials and scheduling timely delivery of products to site for all construction projects.
You will liaise with the project managers to ensure that each project has the relevant materials in the right quantities at the right time, whilst ensuring cost efficiency and smart sourcing strategies.
You will also play a critical role in managing logistics, ensuring that materials and equipment are delivered to site efficiently and with minimal disruption to project timelines.
Placing the order is one part of the role, but coordinating the transport and delivery of goods to site is a significant focus.
You will liaise with subcontractors to ensure timely communication and build strong relationships during the project lifecycle.
Additionally, you will monitor inventory levels and problem-solve procurement and logistical challenges in this fast-paced environment.
This role is perfect for someone with experience working within a trade procurement and sales environment who is familiar with building products and materials, whether that be for a building/construction company or a hardware or trades supplier.
You will have natural initiative and common sense with the ability to highlight variances between actual costs and budgeted spend.
Attention to detail is key, and a head for numbers is crucial.
Key Responsibilities Source and procure materials and equipment, negotiating with suppliers to secure the best terms while tracking inventory to avoid delays.
Prepare cost estimates for materials ensuring alignment with project budgets.
Coordinate effective delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors.
Act as a key contact between suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers, addressing issues to minimise disruptions.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and schedules, preparing regular reports for project managers and senior management.
Monitor inventory levels, resolving supply chain challenges proactively.
Foster effective communication with stakeholders to ensure clear updates on progress and timelines.

Qualifications and Skills Construction or trades-related qualification preferred but not essential.
Experience in 3D BIM software, such as "Trimble Connect," or an equivalent.
Proficiency in JobPac software (or experience with an equivalent alternative is cautiously considered).
2+ years of experience in construction coordination or working within a trade procurement and sales environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to construction management software preferred.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong negotiation skills.
