The position plays a key role in leading and managing the operational and supervisory staff to provide a high level of technical expertise for the delivery of capital projects and programs of work for the Works Team and the Infrastructure Services Directorate relevant to road, bridge, drainage and associated assets.
Some specific tasks include:
Collaborating with the Infrastructure Planning Coordinator in the planning and scheduling of Council's Annual Capital Works Program.Supervising staff and coordinating the construction delivery of Council's capital works projects for roads, drainage and ancillary works.Providing leadership for the day-to-day operation of Council's road and associated assets.Undertaking community consultation as required.Proactively managing changes in project scope, budget, agreed delivery timeframes and identifying potential issues and devising contingency plans.Undertaking progress inspections and reporting of capital works projects to monitor efficiency, compliance, and delivery targets.The successful candidate will meet the criteria set out in the Position Description below.
