Our Conservatorium of Music (the Con) celebrates more than 70 years of music education in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley region and plays a critical role in both our community and tertiary music programs, serving as a hub of cultural and social influence.
The role This is a unique opportunity to support the operations and strategic direction of the Conservatorium (60%), whilst maintaining a balanced focus on teaching (20%) and research (20%) responsibilities.
In this role, you will:
Lead and support the operations of the Conservatorium Coordinate and deliver courses – tertiary and community. Drive innovative teaching methods to enhance the student experience. Contribute to the research agenda, maintaining a strong output of publications or creative works. Promote the School and Conservatorium in the community, building strong relationships and partnerships. About you Our ideal candidate will have a passion for music education and strong leadership skills. You will also have:
A PhD or equivalent standing in Music or a related discipline. A demonstrated record of academic research and/or creative works in respected journals or outlets. Proven experience in course design and delivering high-quality tertiary-level teaching. Exceptional leadership skills and experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve results. A NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC), or ability to obtain one. Please note: This role requires current valid work rights for Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Remuneration and Benefits The remuneration for this position is from $112,717 - $133,853 + 17% superannuation.
