Organisation: Department of Transport and PlanningOccupation: Administration/SecretarialReference: 5174Job posted: 04/09/2024Closes: 18/09/2024Classification: VPSG3Salary Range: $74,580 - $90,558Work location: Western Region | StawellAbout the RoleThe role is responsible for reviewing and consenting to Works Within Road Reserve applications in a timely, coordinated, and efficient manner under limited direction to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the road network and protection of the road asset when third party works are taking place on the road.Review and consent to works within road reserve applications in a timely and efficient manner which aligns with the processes and timeframes under the Code of Practice – Management of Infrastructure in Road Reserves of the Road Management Act 2004.Deliver an exceptional customer-oriented service to all internal and external customers and stakeholders.Exercise professional judgement in the assessment and consent to works within road reserve applications to ensure the road network continues to operate safely and efficiently and road asset continues to be protected when third party works are taking place on the road.Use negotiation and influencing skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the business area's objectives are communicated and prioritised.Negotiate with and influence key stakeholders to remove or minimise barriers to improved service delivery.Actively participate in self-development, implementation of change, while showing initiative and making a positive contribution to the team environment.Key Selection CriteriaTo be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will engage in active collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring timely decisions and validating strategies through testing and feedback.
A strong foundation in critical thinking and problem-solving is essential, as the role involves analysing data, stakeholder needs, and potential solutions before making informed recommendations.
Additionally, the candidate should have a solid understanding of systems thinking, applying appropriate tools to assess situations and foresee organizational impacts.
