What are we looking for? Skills Required: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience with Xero accounting software, including daily bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and invoicing.
Experience with Australian Payroll is advantageous.
Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance roles, ideally within construction or contracting industries.
Familiarity with invoice checking, payment runs, and financial reporting.
Knowledge of GST rates and tax-related tasks in accounting, specifically within Australia or New Zealand.
Strong proficiency in Xero for various accounting tasks, including reconciliations and invoicing.
Ability to create ABA files for payment runs and understand financial statements.
Competency in using Excel, particularly for tasks like creating pivot tables for reports.
Familiarity with financial report generation, such as Accounts Payable Listings and EOM (End of Month) reports.
Experience with Procore, Lentune, or similar construction management software would be highly advantageous (not required- open training candidate).
What will you do? Daily Xero bank account reconciliations.
Monthly claim creation in Xero.
Creation of Accounts Payable.
Checking draft invoices when uploaded from Procore/ Lentune (open training candidates with no prior experience using mentioned tools).
Ensuring new employees are entered correctly into Xero payroll module; any changes to current employees' remuneration are recorded correctly in Xero payroll module.
Driving weekly/monthly payroll processing.
Ensuring superannuation and payroll tax obligations are up to date.
Other ad-hoc duties as requested.
