There are 3 x roles based in the following remote NT locations: Kalkarindji, Elliott and Yarralin. Do you have experience in essential service work and meeting safety standards? The Opportunity We are looking for someone who is responsible for the maintenance and operations of essential services in designated remote communities to join our team.
Work safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and practices, completing a job safety and environment analysis daily. Complete all scheduled tasks as required by the USC contract within the designated timeframe as defined in the Essential Services Officer manual. Ensuring all documentation and reporting is effectively submitted and communicated to the USC supervisor daily or as required. Provide a 24/7 on-call service for essential services in the community and attend callouts within 1 hour of advice. About You You are a practical, adaptable individual who thrives in remote, on-call roles and can work independently. With a strong work ethic, you ensure essential services like water, power, and waste management run smoothly. You value cultural diversity, self-management, and making a positive impact in communities.
Key Attributes:
Problem-solving: You assess issues and apply practical solutions to moderate problems and technical tasks. Practical skills: Experienced in meter reads, inspecting bores, basic mechanical skills, servicing generators, and maintaining tools and infrastructure. Physical capability: Confident in climbing ladders and tanks and performing tasks like mowing and groundskeeping. Communication: Clear communicator with team members, stakeholders, and community members. Interpersonal skills: Build trust and respect, especially in culturally diverse environments. Organisational skills: Maintain accurate records and follow maintenance schedules. Stakeholder engagement: Liaise professionally with stakeholders and customers to deliver quality service.
