About the Opportunity We are looking for a Configuration Manager to join our team and take the lead on a major new Defence program.
This is a unique opportunity to be the first specialist in your field as the program kicks off, shaping the foundation of our configuration management strategy from the ground up.
Your expertise in EIA-649 C standards will be critical in establishing robust configuration control processes and ensuring program success as we embark on this exciting new project.
There will be a significant responsibility to be the subject matter expert, lead the growth of a future team and be capable of informing strategic decisions.
This is a Full time, Permanent position, based from Osborne, SA.
Responsibilities Lead the creation and implementation of configuration management (CM) plans and policies, ensuring alignment with EIA-649 C standards.
Serve as the key authority on configuration control for the entire project lifecycle, working with our customer and industry partner to define the CM program and ensuring compliance with defence industry standards.
Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and project teams to ensure configuration consistency and integrity across all systems and products.
Work with the customer to influence the CM infrastructure from the ground up, including tools and processes that will ensure long-term success for the program.
Implement processes to verify compliance with established baselines and changes.
Provide leadership and training on CM principles to cross-functional teams as the program evolves.
Maintain all configuration documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for key stakeholders.
Write and update Configuration Management Plans, Policies and Procedures as required during the growth of the program.
Plan and grow a future team.
About you Relevant qualification in a technical, business or configuration management discipline, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years' experience in Configuration Management, and significant experience in Defence programs.
Proficient in management methodologies including work scheduling, prioritising, coaching and process execution.
Familiarisation and experience with configuration management practices in the Defence industry and standards such as EIA-649 C.
Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate within a team environment.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead CM activities from the ground up.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a defence environment with cross-functional teams.
Self-starter with leadership capabilities to set up and manage CM processes on a major new program.
Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
