Conference & Events Organiser - Rydges Hotel Gold Coast AirportRydges Gold Coast Airport sits within the Star Group portfolio, Queensland's largest independent hotel business.
With the growth and development of our teams and business, we are now on the lookout for a Full Time Conference and Events Organiser to join the team. This role is a unique combination of sales administration and operations, with customer service being the highest priority.
Relevant qualifications and minimum of 2 years of employment experience are required. Conference & Events Organiser Responsibilities & Duties:Promoting and Marketing: Strategically market and promote conferences, conventions, trade shows, and other hotel event offerings to potential clients and partners through various channels, including online platforms, email campaigns, and networking events.Client Communication and Relationship Management: Respond promptly to inquiries regarding services, room and equipment rental costs, catering options, and other event-related details. Establish strong client relationships through consistent, professional communication, providing exceptional customer service.Needs Assessment and Proposal Development: Meet with clients to thoroughly discuss event goals and specific requirements, advising on package options that align with their vision. Tailor proposals and detailed quotes to match client needs and budget constraints.Event Planning and Coordination: Organise and coordinate comprehensive services for events, including but not limited to venue setup, catering, signage, displays, audiovisual equipment, accommodation arrangements, transport logistics, and social activities. Ensure all arrangements are in place to deliver a seamless experience for participants.Registration and Attendee Management: Oversee the registration process for event attendees, including the setup and maintenance of online registration portals, processing of payments, and troubleshooting any issues.Vendor and Budget Management: Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with external vendors and service providers. Maintain budget controls, monitoring expenditures and ensuring all costs remain within agreed-upon limits.On-Site Event Execution and Supervision: Act as the primary point of contact during events to oversee setup, coordinate timing and logistics, resolve last-minute issues, and ensure that the event proceeds smoothly from start to finish.Contractor Supervision and Compliance: Monitor the performance and adherence of contractors and suppliers to work orders, and address any deviations from contractual terms. Report on and document any necessary adjustments or additional requirements.Post-Event Evaluation and Reporting: Conduct post-event reviews with clients to assess satisfaction, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement. Prepare and submit detailed reports on event performance, attendee feedback, budget adherence, and lessons learned.Safety and Compliance Management: Ensure that all event activities comply with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and local laws. Implement risk management plans, including emergency procedures, to prioritize attendee safety.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, using insights to continuously improve the hotel's event offerings and enhance the overall guest experience.Rydges Gold Coast Airport offers you a supportive and friendly work environment, training opportunities, food and beverage discounts, and the potential to grow in a large company.

Ideally, you will have experience in IVY / RMS or similar property management system, but at Star we highly value personality, so don't let that deter you!
