We are looking for an experienced Event Salesperson to join our team in a full-time role, selling infrastructure for corporate events into a range of venues and locations.
About the Role:
This role will be focused on selling corporate events, product launches, celebrations, and social events.
The role is based at our head office in Sydney's Regents Park.
The role is fast-paced, and the right candidate will be tasked with maximising the potential of existing accounts and enquiries, as well as sourcing new business with a focus on the corporate market.
Clients can include professional conference organisers, venue finders, other third-party and direct corporate planners and bookers.
Working closely with the wider Event Sales team across the company portfolio, this role will suit a driven and enthusiastic sales and events professional looking for a new opportunity with a desire to exceed targets and build success for themselves and the Select Group.
The Requirements
3+ years previous experience in the hospitality or events industries as an Event Sales Manager or Event Manager.
Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication, organisational, time management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent client management and relationship development skills, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
High-level industry knowledge and understanding of market trends and competitors.
Responding to event enquiries and guiding the client through the process until event confirmation, ensuring a seamless handover to the event coordination team.
Develop and maintain effective relationships in all aspects of the role, enhancing the reputation of Select Group at all times.
Convert leads to achieve budgets with an active plan to grow leads, repeat clients, and revenue.
The ability to conduct site inspections and meetings in a professional manner, manage and respond to corporate and social event enquiries, prepare proposals and contracts, and convert enquiries to sales to ensure budget targets are achieved.
Attendance at occasional industry events and client familiarisations.
Bring existing and strong established contacts from within the corporate marketplace.
Strong financial understanding of sales reporting, budgets, and forecasting, with a proven success in meeting sales targets in new and existing business.
Develop, execute, and review a progressive business development plan to achieve sales targets.
Attend and actively participate in sales team meetings, contributing to the sales actions and plans to achieve budget.
Review feedback surveys to build a future pipeline of repeat events and new business.
Support the culture and celebrate the success of the team and overall business.
Actively participate in all training sessions and ensure that any pre or post work is completed by the due date.
