Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Conference and Events Operations Manager to join our team in Sofitel Brisbane Central.
As the Conference and Events Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of a wide range of meetings and events, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional client experiences.
This is a full-time salaried role and has the potential to be a sponsored position for the right applicant.
Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies and plans for conferences, meetings, and special eventsManage all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, contract negotiation, and vendor managementCreate and oversee event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality standardsEnsure client expectations are met, delivering a service that exudes luxury and aligns with Sofitel brand standardsCollaborate with other hotel departments to strategise on new product and service offeringsPromote a strong Heartist culture and a team that is focused on providing unforgettable experiencesLead and mentor a large team of ambassadorsDevelop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and partnersImplement and monitor event safety and security protocolsStay current with industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas into event planning and executionEnsure compliance with local regulations and company policies related to event management. QualificationsA degree in hospitality management, event management, or a related field is preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in conference and events management, preferably in a luxury hotel or similar environmentProven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale events and conferencesStrong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teamsA luxury attitude, consistently displaying passion and pride in everything you do.Excellent project management and organisational skillsProficiency in event management software and toolsOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to manage budgets and costsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressureAttention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of event industry trends and best practicesFamiliarity with local venues and suppliers in Brisbane, Australia.
