Job Description About Role: The Computer Network and System Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and systems.
The role ensures the seamless operation of all IT services, implements security measures, and provides technical support to staff.
This position plays a key role in the design and implementation of new technologies and contributes to the overall efficiency and security of the organization's IT environment.
Desired Skills and Experience Duties & Responsibilities: Provide daily IT support to users by troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues both remotely and on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Configure and maintain network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls, to ensure stable and secure connectivity within the organization.
Administer and support server environments, including installing, configuring, and updating operating systems, managing user accounts, and performing routine system maintenance.
Monitor and report on network performance and system health, proactively identifying and addressing issues to ensure smooth operation and reliability.
Assist with the implementation and management of security measures, including firewalls and antivirus solutions, to protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Support the integration of IT systems and applications, ensuring compatibility with existing technology and meeting user needs.
Manage Microsoft Azure resources, including creating and configuring virtual machines, managing Azure Active Directory users and groups, and implementing cloud security measures.
Monitor and manage Azure services, setting up alerts, scaling resources as required, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, IT procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Provide training and support to users on IT policies, best practices, and new technologies to help them effectively utilize IT resources.
Key Selection Criteria: A Master's/bachelor's in information technology or a closely related field is desirable.
Demonstrated expertise in administering and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases.
Ability to implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's systems and data.
Experience with security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to data security and privacy in the education sector.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, students, and external vendors.
Experience managing IT projects from planning to execution, including resource allocation and timeline management.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to address user inquiries and technical support requests promptly and professionally.
